Background of Vaccine
April 2005 saw a monthly trance night by the name of Vaccine commence in the Anexo bar of Turnmills nightclub. The aim was to showcase the best trance djs, both established and up and coming.
Fast forward and Vaccine has just become the latest signing to The Gallery @ Turnmills, taking over the third room (T3) ever second Friday of the month from February 2006 to showcase the very best in trance from the continent and beyond.
The journey to its new residency has been a spectacular one in anyone’s books. Ben Beaton whose ambition was to showcase the best in UK and Dutch trance talent created the Vaccine concept.
Joined by The Viceroy in April 2005, the pair are also known amongst the Vaccine faithful as the resident DJ’s, regularly taking the party on into the small hours.
Not your typical promoters, Vaccine has been run by the use of Ben’s overdraft and The Viceroy\\\'s student loan, such is their passion to spread unseen talent.
The night has seen DJ’s such as Ernesto vs Bastian, Simon Patterson aka Dogzilla, Paul Masterson, Lost Witness, Michael Splint, Misja Helsloot, Phynn, Goldenscan, and Kuffdam make headline appearances alongside a wide selection of young talent, bedroom djs, established residents and stars of tomorrow.
The success of the night saw it move from the Anexo bar into the intimate surroundings of T2 (Turnmills legendary second room) in May 2005, with its monthly Thursday nights attracting increasing numbers of clubbers hungry for quality trance.
Collaborations with the likes of Serious in August 2005 showed how quickly the night had become synonymous with quality and established in the scene as a whole.
It quickly became an established industry hangout, and Thursday’s saw promoters and DJ’s come to relax before the weekend ahead whilst also checking out the future faces of the scene. This has led to support from the likes of Judge Jules who described it as a night of “brand new trance talent administered and lovingly tended to”.
Its this fresh approach to promoting that has been the key to success, with so many trance nights putting on identical and predictable line-ups, Vaccine is proud to be different, striving for the originality which people crave.
The success of the night and its forward thinking vision quickly attracted Danny Newman and The Gallery teams attention and after only nine months, Vaccine is to work alongside and promote the T3 room at arguably the best night in the UK, The Gallery @ Turnmills.
See you at the front
