Post subject: SAM TOWNEND NAMED NEW LABEL MANAGER |
|
|
After days of red hot speculation, tidy boss Russell Pate finally put an end to the guessing when he named Sam Townend as new label manager.
One half of rising DJ duo Sam Townend & Deano and the former head of Shroom Recordings, Sam comes to the world’s premier hard house label on a mission to source the finest new music from the hottest producers in the scene.
“I’m very excited at being given the opportunity to work as part of the team at the forefront of the hard dance industry,” he said.
“I’ve been involved in the scene for the last eight years in some way, shape or form. From my career as a DJ and producer, to club promotion, to running an independent record label, I have always strived to bring fresh ideas and new direction into whatever I have done, and this will remain the same for my time at tidy.”
Picking up the A&R mantle from previous label boss Lee Haslam, Sam is looking forward to taking over the reins of tidy and driving the label forward.
“It’s a very exciting time for the hard dance scene as a whole,” he continued. “The clubs are busy, there is a lot of good original music about, and there seems to be an influx of the younger generation picking up on the sound which can only be a good thing!
“With my position I’m going to be looking at bringing back the original hard house vibe and put out music that can capture what made the scene so prominent in the first place. Sometimes to move forwards you have to go back!
“Expect to see more of everything from the label in the future. More hard house, trance, bounce, funk and anything in between that I feel will move the music and scene forward as a whole.
“Obviously the music we release is for you guys, so if anyone has any questions or comments please do feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help you as best I can,” he added.
To contact Sam with your questions, comments or any new production material please email sam.townend@tidy.com.
