I use the car 50% for short distance-travelling and 50% long-distance.
Therefore maybe a hybrid car would be the best solution for me...but at the same cost as ordinary cars (an ordinary car in norway costs between £20000 and £30000 btw...so it's not cheap at all...).
I will not buy an electric car until it got the same qualities as a normal car....(must be able to do long distance driving...and recharge batteries in a very short time....talking minutes and not hours).

You'll never get the same performance from one of those electric cars as you would from a petrol engine. I prefer to get to work in under 5 hours (if you know what I mean) so until they can design fast electric cars I'm sticking with my un-environmentally friendly wheels.

i wouldve thought an electric car would be a hell lot safer than a petrol car, with about 50 ltrs of explosive liquid in the back
one good thing with elecectric/hybrid cars is you get alot of tax and stuff off here in uk, better alternative right now is LPG,
end of the day, electric cars are not a long term solution, you still need to burn fosil fuels to make the electricty so far, other reneable energy sources are massively inadequate
hehe, what was cool was that 2million hydrogen prototype car by ford and gm, saw it on tv, you can stick a beaker under the exhaust and collect the water and just drink it, thats all it makes
but you wonder if the electric cars would be considered seriously, the way america and president bush is heading, bush who doesnt give a second thought about the long term environmental future, would electric cars be taken seriously, untill its too late?
